In 2019, Kiwi born and bred international offshore powerboat winning champion Wayne Valder decided he wanted a luxury Powercat, he set his sights on something fast, extremely fast. Wayne set out to assemble a team of New Zealand’s leading experts in the marine industry. His quest took him to one of the world’s foremost designers of high-performance pleasure cats, Roger Hill. With the design drafted, he approached Scott Lane Boat Builders, who have built a reputation for producing high-quality handcrafted motor yachts.

With an international offshore racing career spanning more than 35 years, Valder Yachts founder and C.E.O. Wayne Valder is enthusiastic about speed. Wayne has the distinction of being the only person in offshore history to win the U.S.A., New Zealand and Australian championships. These achievements required a serious dedication to the sport, something that he has brought to Valder Yachts.
ROGER HILL YACHT DESIGN
Roger Hill began his career in yacht design, working for such internationally recognised designers as Bruce Farr and Rob Humphreys. Eventually, setting up his studio in Auckland, New Zealand, he quickly established himself as the go-to designer for power cats. Roger Hill Yacht Design (RHYD) Ltd has been continuously busy with a wide variety of work, power, and sail, mono and multihull.
